Storage device maker Western Digital (WD) announced a device called the WD Black2 dual storage drives. The new device is claimed to be unique storage innovation that combines solid state drive (SSD) with hard disk drive (HDD).

WD claimed these products offer robust solutions drive results fusion dual 2.5-inch SSD with a capacity of 120 GB and 1 TB HDD. Matt Rutledge, Senior Vice President of Storage Technology Business Unit explains WD, WD Black2 has a level of SSD performance and HDD capacity that is connected via a single cable and fits with the conventional 9.5 mm slot.

"Our customers expressed that they liked the technology of our Solid State Hybrid Drive, but the tech savvy users ask about a place to keep control over their data," Rutledge said in his official statement.

Furthermore, Rutledge claimed WD Black2 dual WD drive is the result of interaction with a customer base through initiatives WD Labs. WD itself has designed a program to provide a laboratory beta testing arena exclusively for customers and influencers WD storage technology products that already exist and thrive.

WD's new product targeting the fans, workers creative professionals, gamers and PC builders. They can utilize the advantages of both flash and magnetic disks, dual Black2 WD drives do offload the use of data from SSD to HDD, which increases the durability and life of the SSD.
