A number of hotels in the borough of Manhattan and Cupertino, United States reportedly even eliminate check-in desks because they are no longer functioning as required. Overnight guests at the hotel in Manhattan or Alotft Starwood Hotels can now use their personal cell phones to get into the hotel room.
Proclaimed the Wall Street Journal, Tuesday (28/01/2014), overnight guests at Starwood Hotels will receive a message that serves as a virtual key. On arriving at the hotel room that had been booked, guests can open the door by attaching a cell phone or turning the doorknob to the room which was equipped with Bluetooth technology.
Mobile variant of the hotel ensure that this technology is compatible with the iPhone 4S to the top and Android smartphones that have been running at least in version 4.3 Jelly Bean. The management of the hotel hopes the application of this new system may be one of the latest technological breakthroughs in the hospitality industry.
Robert Habeeb, president of First Hospitality Group, which has about 55 hotels in the United States also said it would negate the check-in area at his hotel. He called many guests who feel the time is spent interacting with hotel staff at check-in desk.
"The hotel front desk will be made as a bartender that allows anyone who interacts enjoy it," said Habeeb.
Until now, a number of hotels are still searching for the best way to minimize the obstacles that will happen. Considering there are several hotels and dikelolal owned by several different companies.
